Human scent mimic, refill package for Biogents and other mosquito traps. Why do mosquitoes love our traps so much? A human" s skin scents are an important factor for mosquitoes to seek for and find their blood meal. Our BG Sweetscent is a unique artificial odor that mimics scents found on human skin. The addition makes our traps highly specific and attractive for Asian tiger mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus) and yellow fever mosquitoes Aedes aegypti).
The trap targets host seeking female mosquitoes and therefore saves you from biting. The sachet contains a patented formulation based on lactic acid developed by Biogents and mimics the human skin scent. The sachet is placed inside the trap. One BG Sweetscent sachet is effective for up to two months. After that, it should be replaced. BG Sweetscent is to be used with the BG Mosquitaire (+/- CO2) or other traps that attract host seeking mosquitoes (unlike the BG GAT trap).
The patented formulation is a result of 16 years of academic research into the host finding behavior of mosquitoes at the Zoological Department of the University of Regensburg, Germany. The particular light and permeable dispenser of the BG Sweetscent guarantees an effective release of the scent.
• The BG Sweetscent uses a patented combination of components to imitate the human skin.
• It is formulated to last for two months.
• For catching host seeking mosquitoes, it is sufficient to enhance the attractive ness of the mosquito trap with the synergistic BG Sweet scent.
• For all other mosquitoes, it is recommended to use the BG Sweetscent in combination with CO2.
